27. July 2011 19:02

Krav Maga of Orange County is happy to announce that Eric Hellberg has joined our teaching staff as the Kickboxing Instructor. Eric is a personal trainer who began his kickboxing career over 12 years ago. He holds several black belt ranks in various martial arts. He has been teaching martial arts since 2004 for

self-defense and self-preservation. Eric's classes focus on good technique, working hard, and having fun. Krav Maga of Orange County is planning to launch noon and evening kickboxing classes on September 12, 2011 at both the Irvine and Mission Viejo locations.

As a courtesy to our existing students, the classes will be available for free for the month of September. The kickboxing program focuses kicks, punches, elbows and knees to get you in the best shape of your life. You will work hard and learn real life combative techniques. The class is open to all levels of experience. Kickboxing is a great way for everyone from beginners to advance students to work on combat conditioning, while getting in shape and enhancing your skills. 16 oz boxing gloves are required and can be purchased at the studio. The class schedule will be updated shortly on our website at www.kravmagaoc.com/schedule.

This class is considered an add-on. Please check with the instructors for pricing.

KMOC is committed to offering the highest quality of training to its student community. Stay tuned for more new and exciting developments in the next few months.

Street Clothes Week: 9/20 - 9/25/2010

14. September 2010 11:36

At class, we're all used to warming up and training in our favorite gym shorts and KMOC t-shirt, loose and comfortable so we can stay cool and have a full range of motion during combatives and self defense.  Well, the reality is that unless you run into trouble while coming to or leaving Krav class, chances are that you may find yourself in that particular situation wearing something much more restrictive and less breathable.  Whether it's on the way to a formal function in a suit, or in a much cooler climate than So Cal in a winter coat or even if it's just a night out wearing jeans and a button-down shirt, you'll quickly realize that your movement is more restricted and your body temperature is less regulated.

During Street Clothes Week, we'll be training on our combatives and self defense but we'll be wearing clothes that we'd typically be wearing in everyday situations.  We'll also train from situations emphasizing a lack of readiness to increase the sense of reality in our exercises.

We urge students NOT to dress for comfort!  You can wear what you'd like, but please wear shoes that are appropriate for the mats.  Also, make sure you stay hydrated so come to class prepared!

Enjoy Street Clothes Week!
