Street Clothes Week: 9/20 - 9/25/2010

14. September 2010 11:36

At class, we're all used to warming up and training in our favorite gym shorts and KMOC t-shirt, loose and comfortable so we can stay cool and have a full range of motion during combatives and self defense.  Well, the reality is that unless you run into trouble while coming to or leaving Krav class, chances are that you may find yourself in that particular situation wearing something much more restrictive and less breathable.  Whether it's on the way to a formal function in a suit, or in a much cooler climate than So Cal in a winter coat or even if it's just a night out wearing jeans and a button-down shirt, you'll quickly realize that your movement is more restricted and your body temperature is less regulated.

During Street Clothes Week, we'll be training on our combatives and self defense but we'll be wearing clothes that we'd typically be wearing in everyday situations.  We'll also train from situations emphasizing a lack of readiness to increase the sense of reality in our exercises.

We urge students NOT to dress for comfort!  You can wear what you'd like, but please wear shoes that are appropriate for the mats.  Also, make sure you stay hydrated so come to class prepared!

Enjoy Street Clothes Week!
